haha.. I love to see what other people think about the fashion world, since I am so used to being around this and have grew up around it, since I was a little girl, this is normal to me. But I can see how it is strange for an old fat man to wear a bow tie and big glasses. If you saw my red wedge, 5" shoes, I have been wearing lately, you would probably laugh then. But that is the fun part of being wrapped up in the arts world, you can wear whatever you want when you wake up in the morning and not care, or say I am a designer, that's my excuse. lol.

Go at it Germaine... I'm a designer too.. thank GOD!!! I have an EXCUSE to be "weird" Praise be to Me!!!!

BOB: Carolyn and I lived on East 91st Street from 1993-2000 and walked by Gaga's school (1997-2002) every day on our way to the strolling trail around the Reservoir (the most serene area in Manhattan) in Central Park:

She has the bible-(t)humpers and conservatives collective knickers in more knots than even the boy scout's manual dreamed possible.lol

Guess I've been living under a rock, because I'd never even heard of her-until iON!


Germaine, I meant no offense w my comment about the "fashion-istas" and am happy that you took it stride.
It truly is a different and fascinating world unto itself.

Several years ago I did a gig on the road working in assorted dept stores in various parts of the country, promoting jewelery and fashion accessories.
It was an education in itself, experiencing the different flavors, mindsets, lifestyles and "fashions", (and sales!) depending on what part of the country I was in.
Lemme tell you, I love small town rural America, but honestly, it has not been THAT long ago that women were making their own dresses out of feed sacks- and fashion had no thing to do with it!
(aside from those free spirits who could turn a sows ear into a silk purse!)

We still have the Amish and Mennonites who make all of their own clothes, but of course their primary objective is to be "plain"-some of them do not even use buttons.

So to these groups, the fashionista's are from a different planet entirely, and anyone who is different and who does not conform to their mold is to be "shunned".
What a world of contrasts!

I can't imagine a world without our GaGa's and Poppycocks and RuPauls and Chanels.
I feel fortunate to have been around some very creative people (who invariably are VERY different from the status quo- to put it mildly! ha).
Now that I think about it, I think that these shining stars must have come into their power just to be able to do what they do.
We are all the richer for it .

So I salute you all!
Even though some of it is a little far out even for me, THIS is what keeps life interesting is it not?

Cher? OMG she was really out there and ahead of her time-ooops did I say time?
Cher is "timeless"!
