[Hi Dr. Dean,

I wanted you to know how much I appreciate your approach to teaching alternative healthy lifestyle choices. I have learned a lot through the years from various health websites as well as several specific diet websites. I tried an autoimmune diet as well as a diet specifically for GERD. I was able to get off of Nexium after 12 years, lost 20 pounds and my esophagus was better. But I almost went crazy trying to follow these diets because of how specific and rigid they were. Even though I had realized some good results, I couldn’t stick with it because of the lack of flexibility.

When I ordered your first set of modules, my husband asked what is different about this program. I said, Dr. Dean is an alternative medicine doctor who actually offers alternatives! If you can’t follow a suggestion right away, or to the letter, she gives you some choices and other ideas so you feel you are doing something toward the goal. So many health professionals give you one instruction but maybe you can’t put it into immediate practice because of finances, other health issues that prevent it, schedule problems, family hindrances, or any other possible obstacles. Then you feel stuck. But Carolyn offers alternate suggestions and lets you know that if you can’t do it now, maybe later, or maybe in a modified way. That’s what’s different.

So many of us have found ourselves in a terrible state of health after years of following the Western culture’s unhealthy lifestyle. We are in dire need of change and we need to be able to learn quickly. For myself and many others, we are loaded down with brain fog and other maladies that make change and learning difficult in the state we are in. The only hope is someone who is willing to share their knowledge and expertise with us in a way that we can actually follow. I really like the way you have these modules laid out in a straight-forward, easy-to-read format. The humor you interject, along with the photos and personal experiences, bring it all to a human level.

I have printed the first 12 modules and put each page in a sheet protector. I made pretty cover sheets for the clear-vue binders and I am reading my new favorite book frequently in a comfortable place since I can’t sit at my computer too long. For the first time, this is a health book that is downright encouraging to me. This is because it feels doable and attainable. It is uplifting when you tell us that it’s okay if we only do some or even one of the steps in each module. We can go back and try again when we’re ready for more. But at least we can keep the information in the back of our mind. You make us feel like we are successful if we take any little step in the right direction. And not making everything so cut and dried is a breath of fresh air!

Many of the eBooks and websites out there are very “hobby-horse” in nature. Someone has grabbed onto some truths and may have some very good ideas. But they stick to that subject like glue and can’t seem to address any other issues that may be there for people. A diet that is good for one problem may exacerbate other health issues in the same person. So it would seem that addressing health from many angles and issues would be the way to go. This is what I feel you are doing here. In order to do this, it takes someone who truly has a store of knowledge to address a wide array of health topics. It is quite rare to find someone who has an M.D. background, has seen the truth behind all of that, and has gone on to educate herself in true preventive health maintenance. And then for the same person to have writing ability as well as an insight as to how to present it….well.

This is not a lot of empty flattery. It’s a matter of facts to someone like me who has been searching for answers that will bring me relief as quickly as possible but not in the form of a pill that causes more problems. You are obviously not doing all of this for simple financial gain. Your whole approach to it tells me that.

I can only imagine the time involved in all of this and as it spreads, the workload will grow exponentially. I don’t want to see you take on more than is healthy so I know you will need help and I’m hoping it will be there. I still remember the day when the Chilean earthquake hit and I thought the tsunami was going to take you out! Hey, it was like that feeling I had when I finally had found a doctor I liked who listened and all, and then he retired. Scary stuff. LOL!

Just wanted you to know that what you are doing is making a difference.

Thanks from Julie in NC.]

Dr. Dean's site is very informative and actually since, in my opinion you get the full iONIC experience when iON, BOB and the Dr. are involved, so I say add a Dr. Dean and BOB forum with the new iON forum - the trinity if you will.

I have researched - searched for it then did it several more times - IBS and LGS and found that the underline cause to these problems was the chlorine in water (even most bottled water still contains chlorine unless you go for the somewhat expensive Penta brand) which you have consumed since birth. That added with diet, lack of nutrition and big pharma leads to this vicious cycle.

I will share with you what got me through IBS/LGS issues:
- get on a 4 day rotation gluten free, alkalizing (hard for excessive yeast to thrive in an alkalized environment), allergy elimination diet.
-buy water filters that also eliminate Chlorine for faucets and shower
-800mg of magnesium glycinate at first and once your absorption gets better, the doasage can be lowered
-throw in a little bit of exercise and relaxation or hit yoga for the all in one package and depending on the severity of your issues, I would say in 3 months you will feel brand new.

I would check out Dr. Dean's site for more thorough explanations and resources.

Don't forget the sewage as part of your new health regime. Hey by the way you humans have gone to great trouble to get used to the skin you are in and now it seems a brand new action is the meme of the moment? No problem just had a bit of wonder. Is there some idea afoot here like what was my disconnection that required my undivided a-ttention to my mad bowel in the first place? How in fact did my mad bowel turn against me in the second place? Did I embrace the lack of ease to become the mighty conquering sphincter ruler in the third place? Isn't the job of the sphincter to RELAX? This seems very much like other conversations with you Marvelous Creators. Sounds fun to us, just could not help to evacuate the Paul Harvey version of the "Rest of the Story".

GOOD DAY?

I Like your comment iON..and ZonePerfect we do love contrast don't we!?!:)

Now, I truly, truly, truly, wonder if the complete acceptance of any "rule" in our outer kingdom allows "it" to play a part in our middle kingdom, which as it then reaches our inner kingdom, encourages an inner dialogue that recognizes it isn't really a "rule" after all, just a perception that we accepted and allowed and that can be changed at any time? Hence the drinking sewage reference is constantly re-minding us human creators to lighten up on the "rules" and relax and allow so we can live full and exciting joyous lives no matter what "challenge" enters our personal universe. Does that make any sense?????

Your wish is our command. In a perfect zone we suggest that you then Tear it up! By the way, it is interesting that you are desiring contrast but require an easy way out. That's fun. GOD is way gooder than hell. So therefore what you are saying is that you go to Heaven for the weather and Hell for the company.

Let'er rip tater chip

I don't think I have ever met anyone who doesn't desire contrast with an easy way out. Since there is no "heaven" or "hell" I can have my cake and eat it too. I came here for the contrast and I'm gonna leave the easiest way possible, when I want and how I want. Why would I choose anything else.

iON, your making me so excited to go create, swim and roll around in as much contrast as I can possibly create. Since I started listening to "YOU", I now have a better understanding of exactly what contrast is and the possibilities have become endless. If or when I ever get bored of it all, I just hit the easy button and transition into bliss. Life is now pure perfection wrapped in bacon with a little garlic butter sauce..
