Meant to post this awhile ago. On April 15th a sinkhole 40' by 60' and 20' opened up about 22 mi from my home. It was in Richmond Ca., at the intersection of El Portal and El Verdi. What are the odds. El Portal!! What a trip. So far it's just swallowed a couple cars.

[[MCLUHAN: If you have difficulty envisioning something as trivial as the imminent end of elections, you'll be totally unprepared to cope with the prospect of the forthcoming demise of spoken language and its replacement by a global consciousness.

PLAYBOY: You're right.

MCLUHAN: Let me help you. Tribal man is tightly sealed in an integral collective awareness that transcends conventional boundaries of time and space. As such, the new society will be one mythic integration, a resonating world akin to the old tribal echo chamber where magic will live again: a world of ESP. The current interest of youth in astrology, clairvoyance and the occult is no coincidence. Electric technology, you see, does not require words any more than a digital computer requires numbers. Electricity makes possible--and not in the distant future, either--an amplification of human consciousness on a world scale, without any verbalization at all.]]

The literate mind tends more toward "MATCHING" SENSE rather than "MAKING" SENSE.

Noticing synchronicities to make a narrative or road of co-incidence is the preference of the literate sensibility. This cliche mental gesture now has ARCHETYPAL intensity for literate persons as they encounter the gaping MAW of the Android Meme's replay of the pre- and post-literate sensory profile.

Kinda cool when your noticings show up. As this becomes your norm,
the extra ordinary is the norm of the day. (according to iON)
I,too noticed my exit was a Bridgeport, exit 144 to the Travel Center Station last week. Pam also experienced Bridgeport last week.

BOB: Metaphors are bridges... metaphor means "to carry across". A "port" is a fait accompli. So the essentialist has the experience and misses the meaning in an environment where one has the meaning before the experience (see the instant-replay machine since 1970).

The essentialist doesn't recognize the contradictions (or cancelling) in the word "Bridgeport". So the unileveled essentialist would not be able to richly experience Bridgeport.

BOB: "From cliche to archetype" - the norm for a para-literate society. No release/"extra ordinary" there.

"Get Over It"

I turn on the tube and what do I see
A whole lotta people cryin' "Don't blame me"
They point their crooked little fingers ar everybody else
Spend all their time feelin' sorry for themselves
Victim of this, victim of that
Your momma's too thin; your daddy's too fat

Get over it
Get over it
All this whinin' and cryin' and pitchin' a fit
Get over it, get over it

You say you haven't been the same since you had your little crash
But you might feel better if I gave you some cash
The more I think about it, Old Billy was right
Let's kill all the lawyers, kill 'em tonight
You don't want to work, you want to live like a king
But the big, bad world doesn't owe you a thing

Get over it
Get over it
If you don't want to play, then you might as well split
Get over it, Get over it

It's like going to confession every time I hear you speak
You're makin' the most of your losin' streak
Some call it sick, but I call it weak

You drag it around like a ball and chain
You wallow in the guilt; you wallow in the pain
You wave it like a flag, you wear it like a crown
Got your mind in the gutter, bringin' everybody down
Complain about the present and blame it on the past
I'd like to find your inner child and kick its little ass

Get over it
Get over it
All this bitchin' and moanin' and pitchin' a fit
Get over it, get over it

Get over it
Get over it
It's gotta stop sometime, so why don't you quit
Get over it, get over it
