My big banana trees by the lake bit the dust this last week with the frost. I've spent all morning dismembering them-chopping and shredding into a gazillion tiny pieces -placing them back over the roots/mixing with shredded leaves and Milorganite (fertilizer) as mulch for protection over the winter months.
There is a giant empty spot now where once there soared a stand of magnificent broad leaved tropical banana trees. To all appearances they are gone..deader than a doornail--kaput
The exciting thing is knowing that this next year they will come back bigger, better, stronger, more lush and more beautiful than ever.

My life has kind of been like that the last couple of years....chopped and shredded into a gazillion tiny pieces....a total dismantling and annihilation of the old self. I was stunned for a nanosecond, by the gaping losses-the giant hole in my heart..the seeming nothingness where once there stood a proud and confident life.
I looked to some dead guy and his puppet-master for insight and guidance out of the labrynth-a bit of encouragement , a kind word...a little insight into what had happened and why...
I looked to dupes, and cannot say that I was well received by that weird little club either....it was more of the old boy "SCREW U, I'm too busy delighting and playing with myself to give a rats ass about anyone else -you scoffing prick" ! (so nice to feel welcomed eh?)
So it seems that I've looked in all the wrong places and in all the wrong faces, but I have learned a lot. Sorry to disappoint, but I have decided against taking the advice of having a run in with a "Louisville Slugger", as a "solution" to all of life's problems, thank you very much.. I guess it is true that dead people have no feelings, nor much remembrance of some of the challenges and vicissitudes some of we 'the living' must face during our sojourn on this crazy planet.
But that's okay.
I would like thank the academy and all of you lovely dupes (both living and dead) for the abundance of SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHiT that is spread so liberally and carelessly here. It's a marvelous catalyst and wonderful fertilizer.
And like those banana trees, THIS dupe is gonna make a come-back and be more fabulous than ever ...bigger, better, stronger, wiser, and so dazzling that you'll need sunglasses just to gaze upon my countenance.....
Adieu dupes
Thanks for the fish (Next time can I maybe get some chips with that? and put it on Bob's tab-he's the richest man in the world you know!)
