BOB: Yes, it's like verbal waving.

BOB: That's an example of the "phatic" but I've explained for many years the new phenomena of "Menippean phatic communion". iON's style is occasionally an example of the latter and is a major reason for their charisma on the radio.

Now this is a very important topic, Calliope and Legend, and the unknown (here on the forum, at least) key to engaging the emotion of "gratitude" with iON.

Thanks for getting us here.

Does Menippean phatic communion have to do with invoking archetypes? Legend seems good at that. If regular phatic is like waving then what is Menippean like?

BOB: Nothing to do with archetypes. Look it up, do the research.

Bob - its ridiculous to ask someone who is not a MM scholar to do the research on "Menippean Satire". Just spill the beans or at least site your source. Its no wonder folks around here are loosing patience with you.

I don't mind. I was hoping that my initial cursory glance would lead me down the right track. Apparently not so fresh out of the shoot. Nothing wrong with doing research.
