So true... in my small valley, towns, states, northeastern region we have seen flooding from the path of Irene, such as not seen in a century. Many lost homes, businesses, farmland, roads, bridges. Crazy, unbelievable! It did not affect me directly other than having to look at the devastation anytime I drive anywhere. Question is... how to deal with it... volunteer to get involved in the cleanup or believe it is not a part of my world?? Akito, do you mind sharing — how did-do you deal with your event? WWIS (What would iON say) |

My response would be not to do anything until, as iON says, you ask yourself the question, "Is this the fastest path to my joy?", period. Some of your fellow humans have created that scenario for themselves, and some have not. You did not. These sorts of scenarios will continue to increase, and they will be seen, as you said, when you're driving. They will also be seen on television and the Internet, etc. Are you compelled by moral compunction? iON would say, "Screw that. That's not your business. It's not your job to clean up other creators' messes." Is it the duty / responsibility of those human creators, who haven't cooked up these things for themselves to bail out those who did? Sometimes the folks who create some shaking up in their reality create those situations to experience change, or to see them cleaned up... In any event, whatever assistance you might provide would be more for show and consolation. In this sense, is it one's responsibility to comfort other human creators through the result of their own creations? Other humans' creations will continue in like manner, so your reserves better be endless; especially, considering what's coming down the pike. We allow only as much contrast into our immediate experience as we wish to experience. For the folks on this board, that contrast is greatly limited, and diminishing...If you desire it...It's up to you. |

Thank you for the eloquent iONization Bart ... I knew this, but great to have validation. I did volunteer at Hurricane Headquarters this morning for several hours. And mucked out someones stone foundation last weekend and sorted endless mounds of donated clothing. Many people in some way love the contrast and drama evidently. The control personality types really get into the organizing of task forces, responsibilities, etc. Sort of a badge of honor to "Fix Stuff"... Some say... oh it is just stuff... everyone survived. We are survivors, rah, rah, rah. Interesting to observe. |
