Ah, there are no rules, but we must navigate Bob's choppy waters.
The question is, Is there a purpose? Is there a grand design?
Does Bob insist you learn McLuhan's pattern recognition, or what was
uncovered by his "holy offices", just so he'll have someone to talk to (well,
in part, yes. hehe)?
A glimpse at Bob's holy offices (from fivebodied.com),

http://goo.gl/Rouv1I believe J. Krishnamurti is also included, but Bob can clarify that.
iON made an interesting comment one day. He said (paraphrasing), that
"People aren't able to transition unless they've grasped the concept, or
idea of the five bodies".
This statement merits reflection.
As has become clear, iON sees the relevance in Bob's (and McLuhan's)
observations on what has happened (especially, in the so-called civilized
world), and is now happening with our race.
There are a million ways to sum up and simplify (my preference) our
situation on this planet.
iON has chosen Bob's (culled from sources mundane and spiritual) model
as the best representation of what has unfolded thus far.
Actually, iON takes preliterate society up to literate society, and Bob
takes it from there.
And where Bob and iON's referents trail off - where we are after these
models have proved their worth is just off the charts. I mean, at that
point, you're in some pretty shit.
Still, we haven't reached that point, yet.
Bob's had his time in the hell of the android meme, and has come out
on the other side.
He says it's our turn to process and assimilate this experience.
I take this to mean, finding one's proper perspective and approach
to the chip body / android meme; to recognize how we've been
influenced and manipulated by the Internet, in particular, to see it
as an extension of ourselves (a tool; a body), and to come to a place
where one can be indifferent to it; to put it on and take it off like
clothing; to play with it, without becoming embroiled, or enmeshed in
the nightmare of too much information.
iON also says, however, and Bob has agreed, that Bob separated the
five bodies (the TV body, chemical [physical] body, chip body [Internet,
etc.], Astral body, and now, Mystery Body), so they will need to be
reintegrated.
The Mystery Body, a representation of the unseen, hidden ground of
our experience, is the last body to emerge as a figure - to be recognize
and, through iON, interacted / engaged with, and which will also be
assimilated into the new physical / chemical body: the "New Anthropomorphic
Physical".
Here's a brief on the five bodies from fivebodied.com,
Quote:
BOB: General matchings for relating to the Tiny Note chart:
1. Chemical Body = 1918 - 1945 (lockdown world government) - arithmetic and geometry
2. TV Body = 1945 - 1960 (lockdown solar government) - logic and music
3. Astral Body = 1960 - 1977 (lockdown universal government) - the occult and personal inspiration
4. Chip Body = 1977 - 1990 (lockdown mythic government) - rhetoric, grammar, and astronomy
5. New Anthropomorphic Physical = 1990 - 2020 (Lockdown BobRule) - club interests via conscious quadrophrenia
Remember, this is a print version of a blurred, anamorphic experience today (where the user-is-the-content
is both FIGURE and GROUND when everything's disappeared - including "media"). It is here to aid in your getting
a conceptual grip on reality. No more, no less. It's a holeopathic cliche-probe.

http://goo.gl/Rouv1iON said, "He [Bob] separated them, so he could put them back together
again."
This is an over-simplification, but I also see it as an essential and
transformational part of the process.
I say, "part", because the process takes a different form after this
threshold has been crossed.
The process of exploration, discovery and expansion never, ever
ends.
The delight comes in the expressions, or forms this exploration can
take.
It means arriving at an overview of what has come before, which is
seeing and exploring what we are, and then gaining as complete a
perspective as possible, and expanding how we see ourselves in the
process.
It's a part of the process of discovery of these aspects of ourselves,
recognizing and evaluating these aspects and their effects, and then
assimilating, or reintegrating these environments back into ourselves,
creating an expanded perspective on what we are.
Regarding the five bodies, it can be said that we are one, and we are
many (also, literally, as there are more than one chemical / physical
versions of us), but this either / or concept will also dissolve as we
expand our experience, and therefore, notion, of what we are.
We are also the landscape we see before us, which is neither one nor
many.
But back to what Bob is doing.
Having as complete and in-depth a grasp on what has, and is happening,
Bob has become, in a way, McLuhan on crack.
I use McLuhan for obvious reasons - one of which is that Bob was
designated as sole archivist and preeminent McLuhan scholar (Bob can
clarify if necessary), but also because McLuhan would make these ridiculous
(although, when probed, astute) statements that would lead a more
pragmatically focused listener to become confused, or to think McLuhan
was an absurdist.
In this sense, McLuhan, and more so, Bob, could be seen like a Zen Buddhist
teacher, who might whack a student with a stick to impart a lesson.
Bob's become a performance artist, where what he wishes to share is
concealed - yet communicated - in his, sometimes, seemingly irrational,
illogical, or discontinuous behavior.
It's these patterns interrupts and paradoxes that Bob wishes to communicate;
although, some may argue, not without some merit, that Bob's inscrutability
is simply owed to declining faculties and stubbornness from his advanced age.
Everything Bob does has a purpose.
You may be asking what the fuck Bob is doing now, but that is the point.
Bob's quoted Zappa before (paraphrasing), "I'm doing something serious without
taking it seriously."
It's having the rug pulled out from under you, something iON is fond of doing,
that is in itself the lesson; what was meant to be imparted.
This is something I appreciate about both Bob and iON, because one tends to
set one's roots down and to "stop"; to reach a conclusion, when in fact this
is an illusion - it never ends.
It's about the play / interplay, but the insights Bob, iON, or whomever wish
to impart are intended not only as a service / benefit, but as prerequisite to
gaining a full understanding of who you are and what's happening.
Still, first and foremost, it's about the fun of engagement (despite the fact that
there's a lot of gunfire).

The Game
Open up your mind and let me step inside
Rest your weary head and let your heart decide
It's so easy when you know the rules
It's so easy all you have to do
Is fall in love
Play the game,
Everybody play the game of love
When you're feeling down and your resistance is low
Light another cigarette and let yourself go
This is your life
Don't play hard to get
It's a free world
All you have to do is fall in love
Play the game, everybody play the game of love
My game of love has just begun
Love runs from head down to my toes
My love is pumping through my veins
Driving me insane
Come come come play the game
This is your life - don't play hard to get
It's a free world all you have to do is fall in love
Play the game
